Section 1: Technical Flat CAD Sketches
Clean 2D black-and-white vector illustrations showing the exact construction of the garment. Sketches must include stitch types (twin-needle topstitch, coverstitch, flatlock), seam placements, pocket details, ribbing heights, and panel cuts.
Section 2: Points of Measurement (POM) & Grading Sheet
The dimensional framework of your garment. A standard hoodie tech pack includes:
- Chest Width: 2.5cm below armhole straight across.
- Body Length: High point of shoulder (HPS) straight down to bottom hem ribbing.
- Shoulder Drop: Distance from neck seam to dropped shoulder seam.
- Sleeve Length: Center back neck (CBN) or shoulder point to cuff edge.
- Hood Height & Depth: Vertical and horizontal apex measurements.
Section 3: Bill of Materials (BOM)
An exhaustive list of every single physical raw material required to construct the garment: fabric knit type (e.g. 3-end French terry), fiber composition (100% combed cotton), target GSM (420 GSM), thread type, custom aglets, eyelets, and zippers.
Section 4: Colorways & Pantone TCX Codes
Never use RGB or generic digital hex colors. Apparel dyeing requires physical Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors (TCX/TPG) codes so dye lab chemists can achieve exact Delta-E color matches under D65 light boxes.
Section 5: Artwork Placements & Scale
Specify exact placement coordinates: e.g. "Center chest print: 30cm wide x 8cm high, located 9cm down from the front collar seam".

3. Common Tech Pack Mistakes to Avoid
- Using 3D Renders Without Flat Measurements: 3D renders look great on social media but cannot be translated into flat cutting patterns without exact POM dimensions.
- Ignoring Seam Allowances & Tolerances: State acceptable commercial tolerances (typically +/-0.5cm for knitwear chest and +/-1.0cm for body length).
- Omitting Fabric Stretch Percentage: If developing activewear, specify the required 4-way stretch percentage (e.g. 80% horizontal recovery).
